- What percentage calculation modes are available?
- Percentage of a value (X% of Y), what percentage is X of Y, percentage change (increase/decrease), percentage difference, compound percentage, reverse percentage (find the original value after a percentage was applied).
- What's the difference between percentage change and percentage difference?
- Percentage change is directional: (new - old) / old × 100. It shows how one value changed relative to a specific starting point. Percentage difference is symmetric: |A - B| / ((A+B)/2) × 100. It shows how different two values are without implying direction.
- How does compound percentage work?
- Applying 10% three times is not 30%. It's (1.10)^3 - 1 = 33.1%. The calculator handles both simple (additive) and compound (multiplicative) percentage chaining.
